Everything we make is built from a small set of honest materials. Here’s what each one needs from you — which is very little.
Reading our dimensions
Every product page lists exact dimensions in centimetres. For furniture and objects we list width × depth × height; for textiles (cushions, throws) we list the flat size, e.g. 50 × 50 cm for a cushion cover or 130 × 170 cm for a throw. Cushion covers fit standard inserts of the stated size. If you’re unsure whether a piece fits your space, measure twice and email us once — support@art-aurora.com.
Oak & other solid woods
Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Keep away from radiators and direct midday sun, which can dry and shift the timber. Once a year, a light coat of furniture oil restores the finish. Grain and tone vary from piece to piece — your table is one of one.
Marble & stone
Wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of pH-neutral soap. Avoid vinegar, citrus and abrasive cleaners — acid etches stone. Use coasters under glasses and wipe spills promptly. Honed stone develops a gentle patina with use; veining is unique to every piece.
Brass
Our brass is unlacquered, which means it ages — brightening where hands touch it, deepening to bronze where they don’t. If you prefer it bright, polish occasionally with a soft cloth and brass polish. If you prefer the patina, do nothing at all. Both are correct.
Ceramic & stoneware
Glazed pieces are watertight and most are dishwasher safe (check the product page). Raw or matte exteriors prefer a wipe with a damp cloth. Hand-glazed pieces show small variations in tone and speckle — that’s the kiln’s signature.
Glass
Hand wash with warm water and mild soap; dry with a lint-free cloth. Hand-blown glass carries small bubbles and gentle asymmetries — the evidence that a person, not a machine, made it.
Rattan & cane
Dust with a dry brush or vacuum with a brush attachment. Keep away from prolonged direct sun (it dries the fibres) and damp rooms (they soften them). A light wipe with a barely damp cloth twice a year keeps the weave supple.
Linen, bouclé & wool
Cushion covers and cotton throws machine wash cold on a gentle cycle; dry flat or line dry. Wool and chunky-knit pieces prefer dry cleaning or a careful cold hand wash. Linen softens and improves with every wash; bouclé likes a shake, not an iron.
Candles
Trim wicks to 5 mm before each burn. On the first burn, let the melt pool reach the edge to prevent tunnelling. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep flames away from drafts, children, pets and anything flammable.
Assembly
